The Staff at Emily's
Almond Tarts . . . a unique product offered at Emily's bakery. A tart shell with our own almond paste filling inside topped with a puddle of white icing and most often decorated with a rosebud. These have become a customer favorite! Emily's almond tarts have served as desserts for bridal or baby showers, weddings, graduations, anniversaries, meetings and city events. They make a great birthday treat. They are also made in miniature form.
Honey Bran Muffins . . . The only muffin you'll find in our showcase that is upside down! Yes! its bran and people crave them! They are baked in a muffin tin and then flipped upside down so the honey can settle into the muffin. Honey bran muffins are a healthy treat at Emily's!
Cinnamon Toast. . . .sold to customers here and afar! This twice-baked cottage bread is sliced and then dipped in our cinnamon-sugar bowl. It's great for dipping in coffee. It has served as a great teething treat for many babies, under supervision, of course! Customers stop in from all over the metro area for this old fashioned product. And it is a bakery item that can be shipped. It has a long shelf life and when packaged correctly can withstand the postal shuffle.
White Butter Cut Outs . . . our grandmother's recipe! These cookies are made all year round using different cutters for every season and special event! They are ordered for sporting events, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, business occasions, holidays and more! They can be sugared only, frosted only, frosted and decorated, sprinkled or coated with sanding sugar, personalized and more! You can even order sheets of this popular cookie in dough form. Take it home, use your favorite cutters, bake and decorate.
Fresh Cooked Custard Cream Pies . . . yes, our bakers not only make our pie crusts but they cook the custard for our pies, too. Our cream pies include banana cream, coconut cream, chocolate cream, chocolate chiffon, tripe chocolate and more. Click on our pie page for more information.
Peanut Cakes . . . sometimes called mocha cakes by certain customers! These long-time favorites are white pieces of cake frosted with white buttercream icing and then rolled in crushed peanuts. Another one of our products often purchased from people from all over the metro area. So common to hear, when boxing this item, "These remind me of my grandmother. She used to make them."
Made-from-scratch Wild Rice Soup . . . a signature deli item at Emily's. Offered every day and definitely our most popular soup. The same base recipe is used to vary our wild rice soup. Sometimes we make it with chicken, sometimes turkey, or you may see a ham wild rice variation and even a cheese and bacon! Our other soups are made-from-scratch as well. We try to offer four to six soups each day throughout the year. Emily's sells gallons of soup every day, spring, summer, fall and winter.
Coconut Macaroons . . . plain or chocolate topped, these are one of our gluten-free options. Years ago, we only offered these during the holidays but customer demand changed that at Emily's! Now our bakers make them every day if needed! (Please remember that even though this product does not contain gluten, we are not a gluten-free facility.)
Cranberry Orange Nut Bread . . . an unique muffin bread due to its pairing of cranberries and oranges! Add the walnuts and you have a delicious combination! Great for breakfast or dessert!
Swedish Almond Macaroons . . . light and chewy, these little treats can be found in our bakery pie case. They are a gluten free item flavored with almond and topped with a chocolate butter cream covered in dark chocolate. (Please remember that, even though this product does not contain gluten, we are not a gluten-free facility.)
San Francisco Sourdough . . . started at Emily's more than 22 years ago by Norine and Steve's father Gene with grapes from the Alexis Bailey Vineyard, our sourdough bread is one of our most popular breads. The chewy crust makes great toast. The texture makes a hearty sandwich and one that goes well with dips and spreads.
Cardamom Bread . . . a sweet topped braided bread most often used as an accompaniment to a meal. This bread is beautiful to look at and makes excellent french toast!
Normandy Rye . . . an authentic German heavy rye bread. Great for Reuben sandwiches and Reuben dips.
European Baguette Bread and Hard Rolls . . . once referred to as the closest thing to true European bread ever tasted. Emily's European baguette hard rolls and breads are made with a starter that is fed daily. This product has that great crusty texture and pairs well with our popular wild rice soup!
